Approach
+  Teams of students form virtual companies, competing in a simulated market place
Instructional methodology
In order to develop an in-depth understanding of the business development process, case studies will be used to support the textbook and the simulated business competition. Each virtual company will develop a business plan and compete for funds from venture capital firms. In addition, a hands-on Online Marketplace Simulation exercise will be employed to enhance students' ability to make strategic business decisions and gain insight into the consequences of those management decisions.

Overview:
1. This course will integrate the financial management, marketing, human resources management, leadership, production, and organizational development knowledge and skills students have gained from their previous fundamental business courses. The purpose of this course is to apply their knowledge and skills to simulated and/or existing business situations in order to develop students' ability to effectively conduct and execute strategic planning and the management process.
2. This course will employ lectures, case studies, business plan development exercises and online management simulations to achieve the course objectives.
3. Using a series of case studies, students will learn to develop business plans, make operational and managerial recommendations, and implement strategies.
4. Additionally, students will work together in small teams to manage and operate a virtual company in a computer simulation exercise.
